Virtual offices have grown out of a concept that originated in the tech community, called Location Independence. Essentially, it means that you have the ability to be everywhere at once, without being in any particular location. See what I mean? No? OK that might be a bit vague…how about this famous quote (that either originated with Confucius or Buckaroo Bonsai) “No matter where you go, there you are”. Not quite getting it yet? Try this on for size…
You can work from ANY LOCATION…short and simple…Though not as funny, I think I like it best.
Location independence is a concept often used with people who have businesses on the web or who use the web to market their business, but don’t actually have a storefront. This growing class of independent, often very creative, business people want to maximize their flexibility, and maximize their reach. They want their businesses to have access to global markets, but to have free time to see their son after school. They want to work for themselves, but don’t want the burden and overhead of managing an office. Essentially, they want it all…and they can have it…Here’s how:
- Websites are now a standard of operations for all businesses, information is available 24/7
- Geographical barriers are removed. It is no more effort, or expense, to find companies across the world or right next door
- Communication can be affordable or even free, and scheduled according to best timing for the individual
- Web technology is more user-friendly and affordable
- Virtual offices have virtual assistants, without the cost of overhead, consultants, entrepreneurs and small businesses thrive
- Business owners can find space for short term use (even by the hour) for client meetings
- Certain transactions and communications can be automated, allieviating the need to be present for each sale
Now more than ever, there is a support network available to help businesses succeed. So, what are you waiting for? Become Location Independent and embrace the good life!

Many companies are finding now that as much as 11% of their new hires were relocating in from out of state to the company’s location. It might seem like there’s no way around paying relocation costs to get that perfect fit for your business’ job opening signed on as an employee. But the reality is that with a virtual office, relocation is no longer an issue for you or for potential employees.
Everyone is connected through technology that the virtual office offers, so team projects and efficiency don’t suffer. Companies see a significant cost savings in their operating budget by utilizing a virtual office. And employees are happy too. Actually, employees might be the happiest, as they have a great job that they enjoy and yet they didn’t have to uproot their families, put their houses on the market. An increasing number of service-industry companies are finding that a virtual office setup is ideal for them and their employees.
Virtual Office Tip: Thanks to a virtual office, a company can be “based” in one location (for mail delivery and client meeting purposes, for example) while some or all of the company’s employees are physically working in locations 10, 50, or even hundreds of miles away.

According to a 2001 survey in the business world, approximately 28.8 million employees, or one in five Americans, participate in some form of teleworking — and many of those employees work for a company that utilizes a virtual office space.
Virtual office space is a great alternative if you are a small business who does not need the use of dedicated full-time office space, but who still wants to create a professional business identity.
Virtual office space could be the ideal solution to the problem of small business expansion without the huge financial costs. Instead of getting your company into a long-term lease agreement for the wrong space in the wrong location, you could instead take advantage of the numerous and flexible virtual office space plans. In a few months, when you and your company have a better idea of its office space needs, you might decide to stay with the virtual office space as it offers so many benefits.
Productivity levels rise with a virtual office or telecommuting arrangement because employees work in familiar surroundings and save time traveling to and from the office. The total daily hours worked at home is much longer than it could ever be in an office.
Virtual Office Space Tip: Small businesses find a virtual office space to be ideal as it can provide a business identity at a prestigious business address.
